Jack Fruit, The Juicy Fruit Tree

A gorgeous tree from Southeast Asia with enormous fruit weighing up to 80 lb, usually under 20 lbs. They are green with a dimpled bumpy skin, up to 30" long and 20" wide. Tree has shiny dark green foliage. In the mulberry family. Flowers and fruit form directly out of the trunk. Sweet and fragrant, the flavor is the source of the flavor of juciyfruit gum. The texture is similar to mango fruit.
