Nototrichium sandwicense (Ptilotus s.)

A Hawaiian endemic plant found below 2400' on all islands. From open dry forests and exposed areas. In the Amaranth family. Can be a large shrub or small tree, usually to 6'. The 4" wide and long pointed foliage has a silvery fuzz. Flowers are not showy, but are stout wooly spikes. I'm at 200' next the coast and it grows great. Really nice for a silver accent in the garden.
