Gardenia 'Frostproof'

Noted for its cold hardiness, frostproof is a tropical evergreen shrub with dark green leaves and fragrant double white flowers featuring narrow petals 2 to 3 inches across. It blooms in late spring without damage from frost, continues to flower through the heat of summer, and produces blooms sporadically at other times of the year as well. These plants are also heavy feeders and prefer an acid, nutrient-rich soil. They do very well in pots and appreciate high humidity. Best grown in full sun, frostproof has a compact shrubby habit.
