Desert Honeysuckle

This is an extremely drought and heat tolerant perennial with small tubular bright orange flowers and light green leaves. Grows to 1’ to 3’ tall in a tight clump. More water and richer soil produces a larger plant. Will grow in the worst soil with almost no care once established. Loved by hummingbirds and rabbit resistant. Tolerates down to the low 20's F. I've seen this plant thriving in Tucson, Arizona in a dry parking lot bed with no irrigation. It also does well in my wet tropical garden, as long as its in the sun. Orange has been 'out of fashion' since the Brady Bunch was canceled, but orange is now 'in' again, it and all the other warm colors. Stand back and grab your sunglasses.
