Coelogyne pandurata

Black Lipped Orchid

A warm-growing orchid native to Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo and the Philippines. It thrives in a warm, sheltered location with consistently high humidity and frequent, regular watering. The plant produces arching racemes of large, showy flowers, each marked with striking, ink-black patterns that create a dramatic contrast against the pale, waxy petals. Fat, closely spaced pseudobulbs store moisture and nutrients and grow downward. Spring and summer blooming.
