Areca vestiaria
A stunning palm which somtimes has a clumping habit, and other times it can have a solitary trunk. These starts were collected from one with a solitary trunk. An attractive golden orange crown shaft, and a modest head of graceful feather-like foliage. It can reach about 20 feet at maturity, performs best in part shade, and requires tropical conditions to thrive. Native to Maluku Province and Sulawesi Island in Indonesia, it can also be grown as a solitary specimen. Prefers slightly acidic, rich soil and should be kept evenly moist, with supplemental watering during prolonged dry spells.
