Clusia sp. 'Variegata' (FL Clone)

Compact Variegated Clusia

Shrub or small tree growing up to 10 feet tall. Prefers full sun to light shade for best growth. Highly tolerant of challenging seacoast conditions, including wind, drought, and exposure to salt air. It does not tolerate temperatures below 40°F and should be protected or brought indoors in colder climates. Performs well when grown in pots or containers. This particular selection came to me from Florida and appears to have smaller leaves along with a creamy variegation that features gently undulating foliage. It’s in the Clusiaceae family. The variegation can be somewhat unstable, so greener parts should be regularly pruned out to encourage the development of the more desirable, strongly variegated leaves.
