Giant Long Leaf Anthurium
This tropical aroid species features long, pendant leaves that can reach up to 6 inches wide and extend 48 inches or more in length. Native to Panama, it naturally grows high up in the trees, thriving as an epiphyte. For optimal growth, it is likely best to cultivate it epiphytically or in a large hanging basket that allows the leaves to drape freely. The leaves are glossy, waxy, and dark green. This plant is quite hardy, tolerating temperatures as low as 40 degrees Fahrenheit and as high as 100 degrees Fahrenheit. It prefers environments with higher humidity levels to promote healthy development. When planting in soil, ensure the medium is well aerated and provides excellent drainage, as this species requires a growing environment that prevents water from stagnating around the roots.
