Large bromeliads with a pale green colored foliage flushed purple if grown in the sun. Needs good drainage, often grown in bark or cinder. Very desirable, this selection is exceptional. The flowers are showy open bracts. Great accents in tropical landscapes. May be a hybrid with a Portea.
