Neoregelia ampullacea ‘Black Cherry’

Mini Black Bromeliad

A compact stoloniferous form of bromeliad with dark marooncoloring that give the plant a dark cast overall. Can be grown epiphytically in trees or in containers with very good drainage, usually using bark or cinder instead of potting soil. Flowers are formed in the central cup which hold water, but are not particularly showy.  Old plants can cascade down several feet if hanging, also good as a groundcover. Couldn't find the name listed anywhere, may not be the real name, if anyone has more infomation, let me know.
