Peter Buck Ti

Tropical foliage plants with tall canes to 4’ or more. Signature plant of the tropics, in the lily family, commonly called Ti (pronounced tee). Bright shade, but can take more sun in the tropics and at the coast in Southern California. Tall trunks are topped with broad long leaves. This old selection has showy bronze orange leaves that tolerate more sun than other varieties. Good drainage, easy to grow, actually quite cold hardy. Syn. 'Kauka Wilder'. This was original red selection brought to Hawaii that all the others were hybridized from, still a real beauty just the way it is. A favorite in landscaping.
