Tropical foliage plant, now being grown as a house plant in the US.  Can be grown outdoors in tropical locations. Likes rich organic soil, regular moisture. Full sun or part. Looks similar to a palm, but it’s not, it’s in the Cyclanthus family. Related are Carludovica palmata, Cyclanthus bipartituts 'Jungle Drum' & L. integrifolia
