Gardenia brighamii x taitensis

Hawaiian Gardenia Hybrid

Not sure about this plant, I personally think it’s a hybrid of the native Hawaiian species with the species from Tahiti. Can grow to be a small tree about 15 ft. Larger single white fragrant flowers have less petal reflex. The larger dark evergreen foliage. It may just be natural variation within the species, not really sure, but it does seem easier to grow.  It’s growth rate also looks like hybrid vigor.
