Hybrid Tahitian Gardenia

A new hybrid gardenia with large shiny foliage and showy,  (usually) semi-double, large fragrant flowers. It can grow to a large shrub about 6' tall. It forms an arching shrub with a really great structure. It does however needs tropical conditions to over winter. Full sun is best with rich soil and regular feeding. Gardenia taitensis is native to Polynesia, the cross is with G. jasminiodes, the more common tropical Asian species. The hybrid gets the best of both parents. In most of the country it will need to be put in a greenhouse over the winter, Florida and Hawaii are lucky enough to grow this outdoors.
