 Spiral Ginger

A spiral type ginger with stunning bright red bracts with small bold yellow flowers. Can grow 6' tall, likes shade with rich soil and regular moisture. The backs of the leaves are purple, the canes flushed with purple and pink. Nodes are enlarged. Needs to be protected from frost, but will recover from the rhizomatous root system in cold years. Great cut flower. Grown from cuttings. Flowers emerge from the roots as well as the tips.
