Variegated Hau Tree

A selection of a tropical hibiscus popular among ancient Polynesians.  The leaves are heavily splashed with white, bronzed new foliage is  pink in the variegated parts making for a stunning visual combination. Flowers rarely outside he tropics with small yellow flowers that turn apricot by the end of the day. Grows up to 12' tall, best in full sun, can tolerate salt spray. Common to see at the beach in Hawaii. More frost sensitive than the common Hibiscus rosa-sinensis. Syn. Talipariti tiliaceum 'Tricolor'
