Arundina bambusifolia 'White'

White Bamboo Orchid

A terrestrial orchid from tropical Asia with reed like stems to 5' and terminal flowers. The species is normally lavender with a purple lip, but this selection has pure white flowers and a long bloom season, year round here in Hawaii, summer and fall in most areas. Syn. Arundina graminifolia. The foliage alone is used in flower arrangements. Very easy to grow. Best in a well drained soil like bark or cinder. Can be grown in the full sun, gets taller if grown in the shade. Here it grows on solid rock in the sun.
