A true grass, although not a genuine bamboo, it closely resembles a dwarf weeping Mexican bamboo in appearance. It typically grows to about 24 inches or more, spreading to an equal width. This plant thrives in full sun and prefers any type of soil that has good drainage. Originating from tropical regions of Asia, it can tolerate only light frost conditions. It is easy to grow and propagate, as it divides readily to create additional plants.
