Frangipani, Plumeria

The classic hawaiian lei flower with large clusters of fragrant white flowers with a greenish yellow throat and pink band on back. Slight sweet fragrance with good keeping quality.  Petals are wide and overlap, with a round tip. One of the best for Southern California, a compact plant with a long bloom season. These are tropical succulent plants with an open branching structure. They love sun, heat, and regular feeding in the summer. Good drainage is essential, keep drier while dormant in the winter. These tropical shrub have thick stems that root easily once the cut ends have formed a skin. They go dormant in the winter even in tropical regions. They are said be slow, but respond well to regular feeding while actively growing.
