Pink & Blue Air Plant
These are epiphytic plants related to bromeliads that need no soil and grow just from moisture in the air and passing rain. Easy to grow, they want air circulation with some moisture, especially in drier areas. This species may be the easiest to get to bloom, the flower is pink and blue, always in the spring, and is very reliable. Can grow into a large clump, as big a a beach ball with time. Tolerate a light frost well, but can freeze in a colder climate. Can be grown indoors if given ample light and air circulation. Will adapt to full sun, best in bright shade. Outdoors without rain, I try and hose down about three times a week, they will tolerate drought though. If they get very dry, they can be rehydrated by submerging in water for an hour. Indoors they can be misted daily if the air is dry.
