Jamaican Spanish Moss

Technically an epiphytic perennial, but it's basically that gray stuff you see hanging from trees in the southern U.S. The very small green flowers are fragrant. The trailing gray foliage hangs from trees and baskets. This form is much more lush than the common species, the strands are thicker and less dry looking, definitely a big improvement.

These are epiphytic plants related to bromeliads that need no soil and grow just from moisture in the air and passing rain. Easy to grow, they want air circulation with some moisture, especially in drier areas. Tolerate a light frost well, but can freeze in a colder climate. Can be grown indoors if given ample light and air circulation. Will adapt to full sun, best in bright shade. Outdoors without rain, I try and hose down about three times a week, they will tolerate drought though. If they get very dry, they can be rehydrated by submerging in water for an hour. Indoors they can be misted daily if the air is dry.
