Aechmea 'Better than Bert'

Striped Aechmea Bromeliad

Very showy in foliage and flower, this showy large bromeliad has tall vase shaped cup, with strong gray coloring and bold banding, it's very stiff. Can tolerate full sun or part shade in hotter regions. Grown in bark or cinder for good drainage. This selection is great mounted in trees, pups freely. Tolerates frost well, but not a hard freeze. We used to call it 'Bert- like', because we didn't know the real name, but it looks a lot like one called 'Bert', but I think this one is actually better so we're calling it Aechmea 'Better than Bert'.
