Codiaeum appendiculatum 'Halloween'

Narrow Midrib Croton

Evergreen shrubs from Malaysia, with colorful large waxy foliage. Needs fairly tropical conditions to do well. Popular in Hawaii and Florida, but they also seem to do well in some warm microclimates in California. Bright light and high humidity, can grow to 5' tall. A shrubby variety with small narrow dark colored leaves, bronzed on the underside with an odd quirk, near the end of the leaf the width is just the center midrib and then looks like the normal leaf at the tip. It reminds me of a feather. Full sun or part, tropical condition. Very cool. We had this listed as Codiaeum appendiculatum 'Interruptum' previously, this is a darker, more colorful form.
