Evergreen tropical shrubs are from Malaysia, with colorful waxy foliage. This selection has large foliage, with a splashy and spots of red, yellow and green. Popular as houseplants, but in frost free areas, they can be grown outdoors. Most often seen in Hawaii and Florida, only occasionally in Southern California in warm micro-climates. . A Henry Coppinger hybrid. California has cool nights and warmer nights are probably the thing needed for good growth, these plants really like heat. Needs bright light and high humidity to do well, but do color up nicely in part shade if warm enough. Can grow to 6' tall or more. Best with rich soil and water. Feed to promote growth. In the Euphorbia family. Easy to grow from cuttings, but are relatively slow growers. The colors in each selection can change under different environmental conditions and season.
