Codiaeum 'Red Banana'

Evergreen shrubs from Malaysia, with colorful large waxy foliage. Needs fairly tropical conditions to do well. Popular in Hawaii and Florida, but they also seem to do well in some warm microclimates in California. Bright light and high humidity, can grow to 6' tall or more with time. Best with rich soil and water. Foliage is narrow, less than 2", 6" long with a rounded end, dark green with red veins, and a yellow margin, more green with no red when new. In the Euphorbia family.
