A gardenia relative with small fragrant white flowers from long tubes in clusters at the branch tips. Rare, it prefers acid soil and a sunny location with good soil and drainage. Will tolerate below 30 F., but better with heat. Gets about 3' tall. Central America. Syn. Lindenia rivalis
