Arundina bambusifolia (Giant Form)

Giant Bamboo Orchid

A terrestrial orchid from tropical Asia with reed like stems to 10'. The terminal lavender flushed flowers have a purple lip with a long bloom season, year round here in Hawaii, summer and fall in most areas. Syn. Arundina graminifolia. The bamboo like foliage alone is used in flower arrangements. Very easy to grow. Best in a well drained soil like bark or cinder. Can be grown in the full sun, gets taller if grown in the shade.
