An orchid from Tropical America grown for its seeds pods which when dried become commercial vanilla. Flowers must be hand pollinated in the morning, propagation is from cuttings. Climbs up tree trunks or walls, need a fast draining soil like bark or cinder. This selection has a creamy longitudinal striping down the leaf. Easy in the tropics, but can also be grown in the greenhouse.
